SSH Telnet
See what SSH is and exactly how you can manage a whole server along with it.
SSH, or Secure Shell, is a network protocol which is used to connect to a web server and execute various tasks via a command line. The protocol is employed by many expert users, due to the fact that the data transmitted over it is encrypted, so it can't be intercepted on the way by a third party. SSH access may be used for a variety of things based on the type of website hosting account. With a shared hosting account, for example, SSH is one of several ways to import/export a database or to upload a file when the server permits it. When you have a virtual or a dedicated server, SSH could be used for practically everything - you could install software or restart particular services like the web server or the database server that run on the machine. SSH is employed mainly with UNIX-like Systems, but there are clients that permit you to use the protocol if your PC is running a different Operating System too. The connection is established on TCP port 22 by default and the remote server always listens for incoming connections on that port though a lot of service providers change it for security reasons.

SSH Telnet in Web Hosting
If the
web hosting package which you’ve picked throughout the signup process offers SSH access as standard, you'll be able to activate this feature with only a mouse click from your Hepsia Control Panel. If you have chosen a different package, the SSH access feature can be added via the Upgrades menu and it will become available straightaway. The information that you need to connect shall be conveniently listed inside the SSH section of the Control Panel - the hostname, the username and the port number. You may also set what password to use from the same place and you'll be able to modify it anytime. All of the commands that are allowed are listed inside the Help articles that we've prepared for you, in addition to examples of the syntax which you must use. An additional advantage of allowing SSH access to your account is that you shall be able to upload files via an SFTP connection.

SSH Telnet in Semi-dedicated Servers
SSH access is included by default with some of our
semi-dedicated server packages, while with others you will be able to include it from the hosting Control Panel if required - even only for the current month. In any case, you could activate and de-activate the feature with one mouse click via the SSH section of the CP. In the same place, you will discover the server name, the port number and the username required to connect to our platform. You will also find a box in which you may enter the password that you would like to use, because it does not have to be the same as the one you use to log into the Control Panel. For better security, you can also change it as frequently as you want. The full list of the commands which can be executed in a semi-dedicated account is provided in our Knowledge Base, alongside the syntax and a couple of instances. An extra feature after SSH access is enabled will be the ability to connect to your hosting space via SFTP using any FTP client that supports such connections.

SSH Telnet in VPS Servers
You shall be able to use SSH to manage your content irrespective of which
VPS servers you pick when you sign up, since all of our packages offer this function as standard. You won't need to add or allow anything manually - as soon as your web server is prepared and you get the Welcome e-mail with the login info, you may connect and begin working on your websites or any software you want to install and run on the machine. You shall have root-level access to the VPS and because the account shall be separated from all the other accounts in the physical hosting server, you shall be able to do anything you need without any restrictions. You may install any app you need and which shall work on a Linux-based hosting server, reboot any software server (web, database, game, media, etc.) and handle your files and databases fast and easy.
